Introduction

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is located in the Tuscany area of Italy and is one of the most visited monument of the country by people all over the world. In many of the sites it is sometimes considered as one of the world's wonder. Many are fascinated by the fact that it leans so much but has yet to fall over completely. It leans due to the fact that it was built on an area that was soft and it couldn't support the weight of the structure.

History and Construction

The construction of the Tower began on August 9, 1173. Originally designed to be a bell tower, but progress was halted several times due to war, money issues, and leaning issues. The tower actually stood upright for over 5 years. The leaning of the tower began as they were building the third level of the eight level building. It wasn't completed until 1360, and the final completion was stated declared after construction of Bell Chamber in 1372.
