The Actuall Reason To Lean

As paragraphed in introduction, the Tower of Pisa was built over an area where the ground was  so soft, to the point where it couldn't hold the weight of the building. It started leaning as the builders got to the third story of the tower. Because the soil was a sub graded, it shifted enough to destabilize the building's foundation. Over the next 800 years it was discovered that the tower wasn't just leaning, it was actually falling at a rate of one to two millimeters each year.
